Sponge Dauber Case

Admittedly, when I first saw a sponge dauber case, I thought to myself “That’s ridiculous! Who needs that many sponge daubers?".  That was just 3 months ago before I started using sponge daubers on almost every project.  Now I want one because I have seen the value.  I recently went to the Scrapbook Expo in Puyallup, WA.  Love Scrapbook Expo but that’s another post.  I looked for a sponge dauber case but didn’t see anything and admittedly, I didn’t look real hard.  Today I decided I could no longer live without it.

I believe that everything should have a home and clutter is created by a) people not putting objects in their proper home or b) an object not having a home.  My daubers have no place to call home so they end up everywhere. They end up at the bottom of my scrap bag, in my tool caddy, hidden in various places around my scrapbook room and even in the kitchen.  And when I need one, they are nowhere to be found or covered in stray glitter.

So I finally gave in and got one of these from scrapbook.com.  I was sold when I realized the case holds 40 daubers and Close To My Heart just announced their new streamlined colors for the Fall/Winter catalog.  You guessed it – 40 colors.

Oh how I wish the little case would be here tomorrow, but it will take several days.  Because as nerdy as a scrapper that I am, I can’t wait to organize my sponge dauber case!
I'm inspired by what's been done by Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie

There's a chart in the lid for her daubers so you can get what you need.

Each dauber is individually labeled so that multiple daubers can be out at the same time

And the bottom is labeled so that when you put them back, you know where to put them.

I can't wait to get my case.  It was just $4.99 + shipping!  I think this will definitely help me keep better track of those little guys as well as be able to see what is wearing out and needs replacing!

Happy Crafting!

Card Challenge

Each week our team has a card challenge using a pattern from Jeanette Lynton's How To books. Jeanette Lynton is the founder of Close To My Heart and has written a wonderful selection of books complete with patterns, pictures and how to instructions to make beautiful scrapbook pages and cards. The books are no longer available in the catalog but are still available on Amazon and the patterns are still useful. I think they are great for taking out the guesswork out of creating. Sometimes it's just hard to get going!

This week's challenge was Tied Frame from the Originals book. I love how this card turned out. It makes me actually want to sign up for a class and go back to school.
Okay, that may be a bit of a stretch!
